My father Allan Culbard, died from lung cancer on 4 January, 1951. He was 39 years old . Fast forward around 50 years, and I too, found myself with lung cancer. I was treated at the Beatson in Glasgow, and was fortunate enough to return to work about nine months later. We had both been smokers. I stopped a year before cancer caught up. At the Beatson, a Roy Castle nurse named Isla, told me about RCLCF, and I've been a member ever since. It's never too late to stop!
